When I started my bathroom remodel research, I quickly found that I could not find the style of vanity I wanted in the size and functionality that worked for my unique space, so I had one built.
I contacted a local cabinet maker here in the city, A-K Custom Interiors, who was able to turn my sketch and inspiration into reality. I had a few specifics in mind, and Kevin was able to steer me in the right direction as I shopped around for the materials.

After looking at a lot of wood.
I decided on walnut and found the perfect slabs at Treincarnation in Clarksville, MD, close to where I was living at the time. I loaded up the wood slabs and drove them to Kevin in Philadelphia.
Over the next few weeks, Kevin did his thing, keeping me posted on the process. The first step was to cut and plane the wood then join the two narrower slabs into one wider slab.
Then he could start building the vanity cabinet. Because the vanity is tucked beside the toilet my only option was to use sliding doors.

Kevin even installed the vanity for me. I absolutely love the storage space the vanity provides and the warmth the walnut brings to the space.
Last, the counter, sink, and faucet were installed. You can follow along with the entire bathroom remodel here.
